If you have NEVER traveled to New Zealand, but have always dreamed of doing so, this is for you! New Zealand is one of the most gorgeous places on earth you can travel too. But so many people feel overwhelmed with traveling overseas, so here is everything you need to know about me, your New Zealand Wedding photographer and how to elope in New Zealand!

I grew up traveling every summer and winter over seas, traveling is in my blood. I feel like if I am not constantly traveling, I do not feel at home. I especially love road trips with my husband and our two pups, daisy & duke.

Places to get married in New Zealand:

Here’s the thing, New Zealand has ENDLESS places that will be gorgeous to elope at. No photo taken in New Zealand is going to turn out bad. So one thing I do with ALL of my couples, is we narrow down a location based on maybe their airbnb, flights, and trip length and then we scour google earth and find remote private locations that only they will say they got to elope at!

How to elope in New Zealand:

If you are from out of country, I HIHGLY recommend get legally married in your country to state prior to coming to New Zealand! No one wants to have troubles on their elopement trip due to legal stuff, so getting married ahead of time in your own court house makes things easier!
Look at the seasons. Consider the fact that their winter is our summer, which is their off season. So try and plan your elopement around tourism so you can beat the crowds! It may get chilly at night in early winter, but it sure feels great after a long day outdoors!

Best places to stay for your New Zealand elopement

New Zealand has some of the most JAW DROPPING airbnbs you will ever see for such AMAZING prices! My husband and I stayed at 3 different ones during our honeymoon, and the rest of the time we traveled in a camper van, and they were the best airbnbs we have ever stayed in! One of them had outdoor bath tubs for us, and our host made us fresh breakfast every morning with fresh squeezed orange juice. WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So I decided to save you the hassle of searching the web for them, and I put together together for you here!

What to pack for your New Zealand elopement:

rain gear/umbrella or rain jacket and flashlights
hiking boots and extra socks! bug spray as well!
the camper mate app downloaded on your phone
outlet converter to charge your phone and anything else
snacks/ granola bars/peanut butter/trail mix
your wedding attire!
Anything you want in your photos, blankets, hats, letters, books, guitars, etc!

ONE DAY IS GOING TO BE DEDICATED TO YOU AND YOUR PARTNER AND YOUR ELOPEMENT AND ALL THE THOUSANDS OF PHOTOS WE ARE GOING TO TAKE, BUT THE REST OF YOUR TRIP IS DEDICATED TO HAVING A DAMN GOOD TIME EXPLORING NEW ZEALAND AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER. SO WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU DO?!
