This mountain top proposal was the sweetest proposal I’ve ever had the honor of capturing!! Mount Evans, Colorado was THE perfect location for these proposal pictures!
Kaly + Tressa
I photographed Kaly + Tressa over a year ago when I first moved to Colorado, in like 4 feet of snow. Their dog ran wild in the snow that was everywhere and it was the best MOST FREEZING day ever!
Later on they came to a show my husband played in Denver and Tressa told me she was gonna propose. So we quickly schemed together while Kaly was in the bathroom! She sent me photos when the ring arrived and man it was getting real!!
We planned that I would ask Kaly if they could model for me for some portfolio content, but really, Tressa had booked an engagement session for them. ;)
The mountain proposal at Mount Evans
Sooo we drove up to Mount Evans with their pup, all ready for what Kaly thought was just gonna be an awesome day of modeling for the two of them. Little did she know!!
We started the day exploring the mountain, staring at mountain goats and hiking Mount Evans with their doggo. Mount Evans is sooo freaking stunning for anyone dreaming of mountain photos, and I loved that we got overcast weather! It made for some epic cloudy views, but the sun still shined through on their faces to give ‘em that sunny glow.
Halfway through our shoot, we stopped at a rocky area that had the prettiest views behind them. I had them act like they “hadn’t seen each other in 6 months & are meeting at the airport” while being back to back. But really, Tressa was getting down on one knee, waiting for Kaly to turn around!! It was seriously the most perfect moment ever and everything went according to plan, and BETTER!! This was such an emotional moment that I got to watch between these two babes and I’m so lucky I was there to capture it.
After Kaly’s shock had faded away a little bit, we ended the night with actual engagement photos with their pup, the most perfect end to the best day ever! And of course, we had to do a champagne pop to celebrate!

I couldn’t go on without talking about the bomb AF outfits these two wore!! Since Kaly thought they were modeling for me, they went allll the way in finding the most perfect outfits for the Mount Evans landscape.
Tressa started the day wearing a simple white tee and beige pants, and Kaly added a little spice with a white tank & an orange skirt. The earth tones they both wore were PERF for the mountain, water, & rocky landscapes around us!
And for the rest of the night & their actual “engagement” photos, Kaly wore the cutest flowy off-white dress while Tressa rocked a purple tank & the same beige pants! I love love that Kaly put her hair up for this outfit, too - different hairstyles can add sooo much variety to a session & your outfits!
It is seriously the biggest honor to capture these moments for all of my couples. Tressa trusted me to set this up, and little did Kaly know she would be saying yes to her forever partner. It all went perfectly! I adore these two and am so so beyond happy for them!!
